Biography

Dr Ian J. Thomson was born in Inverness, Scotland. He obtained his MPhys (Hons) and PhD from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He is currently a Research Associate in the Laser and Photonics Applications Group working on diode-pumped solid-state laser amplifiers for industrial applications.
